![]() If you were open to replacing furniture I’d look for closed storage - like a small dresser or credenza in lieu of the console table on the wall or the bookshelves, a bed with built in drawers underneath. Especially anything to make better use of the closet space Just remember to anchor it to a wall or it'll come flying forward when you open both doors. Billy bookcases with doors make excellent low impact storage solutions for small items and clothes. Remember the adage in small spaces is "store up, not out", think about adding a shallow high shelf to hold all the little bits and pieces lying around, the best spot would be along that wall between the door and the closet. Consider a small folding room divider for the foot of your bed to give you a little bit of 'room' separation. I prefer layout 2, I'm a 'bed in the corner' person and it gives you back some much needed contiguous floor space. And get a high wardrobe cabinet to put next to the closet opening, against that wall with the mirror lying on it. ![]() Be sure to add some nice soft lighting that you leave on to keep it from being a black hole. Empty it out, and make it into a little office with your desk, and even a reading nook next to that with a chair. Make use of that closet better, add some proper shelving/organization to put a lot of that life clutter out of sight. Add a solid pale colour curtain (no patterns!) if you can't put on closet doors. Put doors on your closet, I know the thinking is that without doors it might help the space look bigger, but it's just a dark hole full of clutter and isn't doing any favours to the visual flow. Thank you all in advance for your feedback □□ pictures 6-9 are arrangements i’ve already tried. please ignore the laundry that’s drying and the pinewood table in the middle (i was trying to hang something from the ceiling, admittedly not very safely, which is a whole other issue). i am also open to getting rid of furniture, if need be. I am open to any and all lay out suggestions. my bed is 5 feet wide and just over 6 feet long, so i can’t fit it into the alcove (although i haven’t tried - maybe i could if i didn’t mind scuffing the walls and also feeling like i was living in a closet). i would like my plants to be as close to the light as possible. the wall space is limited and chunked into small sections, so i’m struggling to find a place for all my furniture. my apartment is set up in the weirdest way - there’s a little alcove for storage and there’s a wall between the kitchen and the main room. I fear i may completely lose my mind before finding the right layout for my studio apartment.
